What could possibly be more distinctively feminine than the dichotomy of toughness and beauty living inside of each and every woman? Desiring appreciation for the delicate, ethereal flower that she is, while never allowing her strength to be underestimated. This inner battle that occurs in all of us is the curse of being a modern, fashionable woman (I know, it’s rough sometimes being fabulous). Expressing your sophistication and grace in a world that sometimes demands a mean stare and tough skin just to get through the day. It can be difficult, but there is no need to spare one of you in lieu of the other. Accessories have always been the icing on the proverbial cake of personal style, and with this season’s accessories being both pretty and full of attitude, every woman can find the perfect balance of tough/chic to satisfy herselves. Personally, my favorite combination is the oh-so “girly” clutch with a pair of don’t-mess-with-me heels.

Traditionally, the clutch is a delicate and demure object, more practical for evenings of cocktails than days of schlepping. However, with punk and rock having such a strong influence on fashion these days, leather, chain and metallic details are proving that a clutch can be a surprising little rebel. Pair that with any of the myriad of substantially composed heels, booties, platforms or wedges and you’ve got yourself one beautifully kick-ass look. Flanked by buckles and dressed in perforation and studs, these accessories are no joke and work with anything from pencil skirts to acid washed jeans. So, regardless of your mood or whim, there are countless ways to express how sassy and surly you can be.
